Free from worry

THE DAILY MOTIVATOR

Free from worry
+++++++++++++++++++

Stop worrying about being perfect. Just be sincere, honest
And authentic.

Stop worrying about what might or might not happen at some
Future time. Put your energy and attention into connecting
With the richness of right now.

Take a deep, refreshing breath and feel the freedom as you
Let go of every worry you've been holding. Experience the
Full power of your thoughts and actions when they are
Constantly pointed in a positive direction.

Allow your thoughts to support and encourage you rather than
Hinder you. Free yourself to deal effectively and
Successfully with what is real and what is now.

Get in the habit of choosing and following your best
Possibilities instead of worrying about the worst ones.
Bring your highest intentions to life and leave the worries
Far behind.

Worry brings you nothing worth having, so choose right now
To free yourself from its grip. Focus on what you can do and
Why, and experience the true goodness that life can offer.

Life's Highways

I set out on life's highways Wandering here and there.
Never knowing who to turn to I felt such bitterness and despair.

I could not find happiness.
In my life was so much pain.
I seemed to live from moment to moment.
Nothing ever remained the same.

Then one day as I was walking I heard someone call"Why don't you turn
everything over to me?
I want to be your all in all."

I felt a battle raging.
Which way do I go The broad and wide highway
Or the narrow seldom used road?

Then I saw someone beckoning Come down this little road.
I felt peace love and compassion A lightening of my load.

I felt a Holy presence Learned that Jesus was His name ~
How He gave His life and all for me.
I will never be the same.

Life sometimes still feels tough.
But I learned just what to do.
Call on the name of Jesus
Because He is always there for you!

Anger makes you smaller,

When you allow your emotions to enter into discussions
Over conflicting opinions or positions, you cloud the issues
And detract from your argument.

Even if you have a valid point of view, it becomes cloaked in
Feelings, which reduce its connection to rational
Thought. You risk losing the other person's respect. When
You're emotional you end up handing control to those
Who are in charge of their emotions.

Next time conflict arises, stay calm. Bite your tongue,
Silently count to ten, take a deep breath and state your
Position in an objective and unemotional manner.

Remember, there is a time and place for showing your
Emotions. And, powerful people keep their feelings
Undercover until the time is right.

Always remember to forget
The things that made you sad
But never forget to remember
The things that made you glad.

Always remember to forget
The friends that proved untrue.
But don't forget to remember
Those that have stuck by you.

Always remember to forget
The troubles that have passed away.
But never forget to remember
The blessings that come each day.

Turning point
+++++++++++++++++++

Your troubles can sometimes be your greatest blessings.
Because those troubles will hound you relentlessly until you make valuable
improvements.

Your troubles help you to see and understand your weaknesses. And that
enables you to start transforming those
Weaknesses into strengths.

The best way to respond to trouble is not to curse it, but to do it one
better. See each challenge as an opportunity to raise yourself to a higher
level.

As with everything else, your troubles are what you make of them. You can
choose to make each one a turning point to a more positive and fulfilled
life.

Many of history's greatest accomplishments were responses to terribly
difficult problems. Many of your own greatest advances have been in response
to challenging situations.

Choose to find the positive possibilities in everything that comes your way.
And no problems will ever be able to hold you back.

" TONE OF VOICE "
It's not so much what you say,
As the manner in which you say it;
It's not so much the language you use,
As the tone in which you convey it.
"Come here," I sharply said,
And the child cowered and wept.
"Come here," I said; he looked and smiled,
And straight to my lap he crept.
Words may be mild and fair,
But the tone may pierce like dart;
Words may be soft as the summer air,
But the tone may break my heart.
For words come from the mind
Grow by study and art,
But tone leaps from the inner self,
Revealing the state of heart.
Whether you know it or not,
Whether you're mean or care,
Gentleness, kindness, love and hate,
Envy, anger are there.
Then, would you quarrels avoid
And peace and love rejoice ?
Keep anger not only out of your words,
Keep it out of your voice.

Move forward anyway
+++++++++++++++++++

You may not get it right on the first attempt. Do it anyway,
and you'll soon figure it out.

People are likely to come up with all sorts of reasons why
it will never work. Work on it anyway, and commit yourself
to handling each challenge as it comes.

Something unexpected will probably happen, in your life, in
your industry, or in the world at large, that will cause
many of your assumptions to be incorrect. Move forward
anyway, because you are perfectly capable of adjusting to
changing conditions.

It's possible that you won't get the results you expected.
Learn from the results you do get, and with your newfound
knowledge you'll discover ways to achieve even better
results than you first expected.

There is no good reason to deny yourself the opportunity to
accomplish whatever you choose to accomplish. Life is about
making a difference, and you will never run out of ways to
do that.

Whatever has happened, whatever they say, whatever the state
of the weather or the economy may be, move forward anyway.
Life is what you choose to make it.

TWENTY TRUTHS TO REMEMBER

1. Faith is the ability to not panic.

2. If you worry, you didn't pray. If you pray, don't worry.

3. As a child of God, prayer is kind of like calling home every day.

4. Blessed are the flexible, for they shall not be bent out of shape.

5. When we get tangled up in our problems, be still. God wants us to be
Still so He can untangle the knot.

6. Do the math. Count your blessings.

7. God wants spiritual fruit, not religious nuts.

8. Dear God: I have a problem. It's me.

9. Silence is often misinterpreted, but never misquoted.

10. Laugh every day, it's like inner jogging.

11. The most important things in your home are the people.

12. Growing old is inevitable, growing up is optional.

13. There is no key to happiness. The door is always open.

14. A grudge is a heavy thing to carry.

15. He who dies with the most toys is still dead.

16. We do not remember days, but moments. Life moves too fast, so enjoy your
Precious moments.

17. Nothing is real to you until you experience it, otherwise it's just
Hearsay.

18. It's all right to sit on your pity pot every now and again. Just be sure
To flush when you are done.

19. Surviving and living your life successfully requires courage. The goals
And dreams you're seeking require courage and risk-taking. Learn from the
Turtle -- it only makes progress when it sticks out its neck.

20. Be more concerned with your character than your reputation. Your
Character is what you really are while your reputation is merely what others
Think you are.

Every choice is an opportunity

Every choice is an opportunity
+++++++++++++++++++

Every choice has certain benefits. And every choice has its
costs.

If you are willing to bear the costs of a particular choice
in order to enjoy the benefits, then go ahead with it. If
the costs are too high for you when compared to the
benefits, then move on and find another, more appropriate
choice.

When you adopt an attitude that life, or the world, or your
community owes you something, you set yourself up for
extreme disappointment. Realize instead that you are already
living in a universe filled with abundance, and that
creating meaningful value out of that abundance is up to
you.

No matter who you are, where you are from, or what you have,
a life of fulfillment requires personal effort, commitment
and integrity from you. It is through making continued
positive choices that you line up life's abundance in ways
that uniquely express your visions and values.

Every moment is a choice, and every choice is an opportunity
to build real and meaningful value in your life. Your
choices enable you to direct efforts so that those efforts
add up to something great and desirable.

Through the choices you make, you have the power to access
the very best of life. Choose often, choose wisely, choose
with the highest intentions, and your choices will take you
precisely where you wish to go.

What you imagine
+++++++++++++++++++

Have you ever thought about what a powerful, flexible and
creative thing your imagination is? With your imagination,
you can create whole worlds that have never existed before.

What's even more amazing is this. The creations of your
imagination are not confined to your imagination.

There are absolutely no limits to what you can imagine. And
much of what you imagine works its way into the rest of your
life.

You can completely control your powerful imagination simply
by choosing to do so. Imagine the very best for your world
in rich detail and intensity, and the things you imagine
begin to grow in the reality of your life.

For your imagination reaches beyond your thoughts and your
mind. Its transforming power comes from the fact that it is
connected to all you are.

Life becomes the way you most sincerely and consistently
imagine it to be. What do you dare to imagine?

Ralph Marston
Cherish things while you still have them,

Enjoy it because it won't last forever.
And if things are going bad,
Don't worry because it won't

It's not a thing to wait for,
it's a thing to be achieved.

How To Dance In The Rain

How To Dance In The Rain

It was a busy morning, about 8:30, when an elderly gentleman
in his 80's,
Arrived to have stitches removed from his thumb. He said he
was in a hurry
As he had an appointment at 9:00 am.

I took his vital signs and had him take a seat, knowing it
would be over
An hour before someone would to able to see him.
I saw him looking at his watch and decided, since I was not
busy with
Another patient, I would evaluate his wound.

On exam, it was well healed, so I talked to one of the doctors
got the
Needed supplies to remove his sutures and redress his wound.

While taking care of his wound, I asked him if he had another
doctor's
Appointment this morning, as he was in such a hurry. The
gentleman told me
no, that he needed to go to the nursing home to eat breakfast
With his wife.

I inquired as to her health. He told me that she had been
there for a
While and that she was a victim of Alzheimer's Disease. As we
talked, I
Asked if she would be upset if he was a bit late. He replied
that she no longer
Knew who he was, that she had not recognized him in five years
now.

I was surprised, and asked him, 'And you still go every
morning, even
Though she doesn't know who you are?'

He smiled as he patted my hand and said, 'She doesn't know me,
but I
Still know who she is.'

I had to hold back tears as he left, I had goose bumps on my
arm, and
Thought, 'That is the kind of love everyone should have in
their life.'

True love is neither physical, nor romantic. True love is an
acceptance
Of all that is, has been, will be, and will not be.

The happiest people don't necessarily have the best of
everything; they
Just make the best of everything they have.

'Life isn't about how to survive the storm,
But how to dance in the rain.'

Choose to accept all that comes your way and in it you will
Find great value. Resist the urge to impose your judgment on
The people, places, things and events that surround you, and
You'll connect with many more possibilities.

To make the very best of any situation, you must first
Acknowledge and accept the reality of what it is. That
Provides you with a valuable starting point from which you
Can move in any direction you choose.

To deny or to fight against what has already happened will
Merely waste your energy and resources. To wish that things

No good.

Instead, visualize what can be in all the richness and

Right now that will lead you in the direction of your dream.

Losers argue about what has happened and who is at fault,
And put their energy into resentment for what is. Winners
Choose the life they wish to create, and find a way to move

Let go and enjoy
+++++++++++++++++++

Sometimes you can hold so tightly to what you enjoy that you
Deny yourself the opportunity to enjoy new and different
Things. You can become so worried about losing something you
Enjoy that it ceases to be enjoyable.

It's important to keep in mind that your sense of enjoyment
Does not come from anything that's outside of you. The
Enjoyment you experience comes from you.

Certainly you identify that enjoyment with various people,
Places, things and situations in your world. Yet the reason
You know these things as enjoyable is because you choose to
Enjoy them.

When you're willing to let go of what you enjoy, you can
Actually enjoy it more. When your energy is not consumed by
Possessiveness or fear, you have more energy available for
True enjoyment.

Every moment and every experience is precious for what it
Is. Instead of striving to hold tightly to it, let it come,
Let it go, and let the next moment bring its own unique
Treasure.

Allow enjoyment to flow out from within you. And there will
Always be plenty to enjoy.

KEEPING THE MOTOR IDLING

I relate well to the comment made by Barbara Johnson: "Patience
Is the ability to idle your motor when you feel like stripping
Your gears." I know that if I can keep the motor idling, it will
Be ready to go when I need it.

A kindergarten teacher practiced keeping her motor idling. A
Story has it that she was helping one of her students put his
Snow boots on. He asked for help and she could see why. With her
Pulling and him pushing, they finally succeeded and she had by
Now worked up a sweat. She almost whimpered when the little boy
Said, "They're on the wrong feet."

She looked and, sure enough, they were. It wasn't any easier
Pulling the boots off, and then she had to wrestle the stubborn
Boots on again.

Just as she finished lacing them he announced, "These aren't my
Boots." She bit her tongue to keep from screaming, "Why didn't
You say so?"

Once again she struggled to pull off the ill-fitting boots. He
Then calmly added, "They're my brother's boots. My mom made me
Wear them." She began to realize how close she was to stripping
Her gears as she struggled with the boots yet again.

When they were finally laced, she said, "Now, where are your
Mittens?"

"I stuffed them in the toes of my boots," he said.

She may have been the same teacher who once commented about a
Particularly difficult child in her class, "Not only is he my
Worst behaved child this year, but he also has a perfect
Attendance record.

A Dutch proverb observes, "A handful of patience is worth more
Than a bushel of brains." I may never have to worry about having
A bushel of brains, but I can sometimes muster a handful of
Patience. And that should be enough.

LIFE is to live
And life is to give
And talents are to use
For good if you choose.
Do not pray for easy lives.
Pray to be stronger.
Do not pray for tasks equal to your powers.
Pray for powers equal to your tasks.
Then the doing of your work
Shall be no miracle
But you shall be a miracle.
Every day you shall wonder at yourself.
At the richness of life
Which has come to you by the grace of God.
But everyone needs someone.
Knowing that somewhere someone is thinking of you.

I may never see tomorrow;
There's no written guarantee
And things that happened yesterday
Belong to history.

I cannot predict the future
I cannot change the past
I have just the present moments
I must treat them as my last.

I must use this moment wisely
For it soon will pass away
And be lost forever
As part of yesterday.

I must exercise compassion
Help the fallen to their feet
Be a friend unto the friendless
Make an empty life complete.

The unkind things I do today
May never be undone
And friendships that I fail to win
May nevermore be won.

I may not have another chance
On bended knee to pray
And I thank God with a humble heart
For giving me this day.

Just Three Words
Some of the most significant messages people deliver to one another Often
come in just three words. When spoken or conveyed, those Statements have the
power to forge new friendships, deepen old ones And restore relationships
that have cooled.

The following three word phrases can enrich every relationship:

I'LL BE THERE - Being there for another person is the greatest gift We can
give. When we are truly present for other people, important Things happen to
them and to us. We are renewed in love and Friendship. We are restored
emotionally and spiritually. 'Being There is at the very, very core of
civility.

I MISS YOU - Perhaps more marriages could be salvaged and
Strengthened if couples simply and sincerely said to each other, "I Miss you
" This powerful affirmation tells partners they are wanted, Needed, desired
and loved.

I RESPECT YOU - Respect is another way of showing love. Respect Conveys the
feeling that another person is a true equal. It is a Powerful way to affirm
the importance of a relationship.

MAYBE YOU'RE RIGHT - This phrase is highly effective in diffusing an
Argument and restoring frayed emotions. The flip side of "maybe You're right
is the humility of admitting "maybe I'm wrong."

PLEASE FORGIVE ME - Many broken relationships could be restored and Healed
if people would admit their mistakes and ask for forgiveness. All of us are
vulnerable to faults, foibles and failures. A man Should never be ashamed to
own up to he has been in the wrong, which Is by saying, in other words, that
he is wiser today than he was Yesterday.

I THANK YOU - Gratitude is an exquisite form of courtesy. People who Enjoy
the companionship of good, close friends are those who don't Take daily
courtesies for granted. They are quick to thank their Friends for their many
expressions of kindness. On the other hand, People whose circle of friends
is severely constricted often do not Have the attitude of gratitude.

COUNT ON ME - "A friend is one who walks in when others walk
Out." "Loyalty is an essential ingredient for true friendship; it is
The emotional glue that bonds people. Those who are rich in their
Relationships tend to be steady and true friends. When troubles come, A good
friend is there, indicating "you can count on me."

LET ME HELP - The best of friends see a need and try to fill it. When They
spot a hurt they do what they can to heal it. Without being Asked, they
pitch in and help.

I UNDERSTAND YOU - People become closer and enjoy each other more if They
feel the other person accepts and understands them. Letting Others know in
so many little ways that you understand him or her is One of the most
powerful tools for healing your relationship.

GO FOR IT - Some of your friends may be non-conformists, have unique
Projects and unusual hobbies. Support them in pursuing their Interests.
Rather than urging your loved ones to conform, encourage Their uniqueness -
everyone has dreams that no one else has.

I suppose the 3 little words that you were expecting to see have to Be
reserved for those who are special; that is I LOVE YOU.

Do you worry about what tomorrow may bring? Many people forfeit the peace
of
Today by worrying what tomorrow holds in store for them. We must live one
day
At a time. We can certainly pray about tomorrow and have great hopes for
tomorrow,
But we can't live in it.

With God's wisdom for our mind and his grace for our hearts, we can face the
problems
Of one day at a time. It has well been said that it is not the burdens of
today that drive
May people to destruction, but it is the failures of yesterday and the fear
of tomorrow
That drives them over the edge.

Have you failed in the yesterdays of your life? If so, confess it to God if
you have
Not done so. If you've repented and given it to the Lord, leave it behind.
Do you
Have a fear of tomorrow? Commit it to God and He will give you a peace that
Passes understanding as you lean upon Him.

We can leave all our burdens with the Lord. This includes our failures,
fears, and even
The future. God will undo all the things in our lives that may seem tangled
Only He can
Solve all of life's many problems and meet our every need.

Trusting in the Lord helps us make it through all the trials and the
temptations of this
Life. If we trust and never doubt, He will surely bring us out. As the
words to the
Old hymn tell us, "Take your burdens to the Lord and leave them there."
Where else can we really go to have our burdens removed except to the Lord?

It comes back
+++++++++++++++++++

You have no way of knowing how or when all the things you do
Will come back to you. What you can know is that they will.

Some obscure and seemingly useless fact you learn today
Could end up playing a major role in your life next week, or
Five years from now. Some small favor that you do tomorrow
May come back to you in a few months as a grand opportunity.

You never know exactly how life will reflect back the face
You present to it. Yet eventually, and quite faithfully, it
Does come back to you.

The value that you put into life becomes the value that you
Experience from life. The more love you give, the more love
You are able to know.

Your words do not end when you speak them, and your actions
Do not stop when you've completed them. They go out into
Life and begin connecting you with the people, circumstances
And things that resonate with those words and actions of
Yours.

Live as though the things you do, in one way or another,
Will come back to you. For you can be certain that they
Will.

Ralph Marston
Sometimes people come into your life and you know right away that they were
meant to be there...to serve some sort of purpose, teach you a lesson or
help figure out who you are or who you want to become. You never know who
these people may be but you lock eyes with them, you know that very moment
that they will affect your life in some profound way.
And sometimes things happen to you at the time that may seem horrible,
painful and unfair, but in reflection you realize that without overcoming
those obstacles you would never realize your potential, strength, will power
or heart.
Everything happens for a reason. Nothing happens by chance or by means of
luck. Illness, love, lost moments of true greatness and sheer stupidity all
occur to test limits of your soul.
Without these small tests, life would be like a smoothly paved, straight,
flat road to nowhere safe and comfortable but dull and utterly pointless.
The people you meet affect your life. The successes and downfalls that you
experience can create whom you are, and the bad experiences can be learned
from. In fact they are probably the most poignant and important ones. If
someone hurts you, betrays you or breaks your heart, forgive them because
they have helped you learn about trust and the importance of being cautious
to whom you open your heart.
If someone loves you, love them back unconditionally, not only because they
love you, but also because they are teaching you to love and open your heart
and eyes to little things. Make every day count. Appreciate everything that
you possibly can, for you may never experience it again.
Talk to people whom you have never talked to before, and actually listen.
Let yourself fall in love, break free and set your sights high. Hold you
head up because you have every right to.
Tell yourself you are a great individual and believe in yourself, for if you
don't believe in yourself, no one else will believe in you. Create your own
life and then go out and live it.

THE DIFFERENCE

There is a difference between being an acquaintance and being a friend. An
acquaintance is someone whose name you know who you see every now and then
who you probably have something in common with and who you feel comfortable
around.
It's a person that you can invite to your home and share things with. But
they are people who you don't share your life with whose actions sometimes
you don't understand because you don't know enough about them.
On the other hand a friend is someone you love. Not that you are "in love"
with them but you care about them and you think about them when they are not
there. The people you are reminded of when you see something they might like
and you know this because you know them so well. They are the people whose
pictures you have and whose faces are in your head regardless.
Friends are the people you feel safe around because you know they care about
you. They call just to see how you are doing because a friend doesn't need
an excuse. They tell you the truth the first time and you do the same. You
know that if you have a problem they are there to listen.
Friends are the people who won't laugh at you or hurt you and if they do
hurt you they try hard to make it up to you. They are the people you love
regardless of whether you realize it.
Friends are the people you cried with when you got rejected from colleges
and during the last song at the prom and at graduation. They are the people
that when you hug them you don't think about how long to hug and who's going
to be the first one to let go.
Maybe they are the people that hold the rings at your wedding or maybe they
are the people who give you away at your wedding or maybe they are the
people you marry. Maybe they are the people who cry at your wedding because
they are happy or because they are proud.
They are the people who stop you from making mistakes and help you when you
do. They are the people whose hand you can hold or you can hug or give them
a kiss and not have it be awkward because they understand the things you do
and they love you for them.
They stick with you and stand by you. They hold your hand. They watch you
live and you watch them live and you learn from them. Your life is not the
same without them.
I was always looking outside myself for strength and confidence,
But it comes from within.
It is there all the time.

~~Anna Freud

LESSONS ON LIFE

There was a man who had four sons. He wanted his sons to learn not to judge
Things too quickly. So he sent them each on a quest, in turn, to go and look
At a pear tree that was a great distance away.

The first son went in the winter, the second in the spring, the third in
Summer, and the youngest son in the fall.

When they had all gone and come back, he called them together to describe
What they had seen.

The first son said that the tree was ugly, bent, and twisted. The second son
Said no it was covered with green buds and full of promise.

The third son disagreed; he said it was laden with blossoms that smelled so
Sweet and looked so beautiful, it was the most graceful thing he had ever
Seen.

The last son disagreed with all of them; he said it was ripe and drooping
With fruit, full of life and fulfillment.

The man then explained to his sons that they were all right, because they
Had each seen but only one season in the tree's life.

He told them that you cannot judge a tree, or a person, by only one season,
And that the essence of who they are and the pleasure, joy, and love that
Come from that life can only be measured at the end, when all the seasons
Are up.

If you give up when it's winter, you will miss the promise of your spring,
The beauty of your summer, fulfillment of your fall.

Moral:
Don't let the pain of one season destroy the joy of all the rest.
Don't judge life by one difficult season.
Persevere through the difficult patches and better times are sure to come
Some time or later.

IF TOMORROW STARTS WITHOUT ME

IF TOMORROW STARTS WITHOUT ME

If tomorrow starts without me,
And I'm not there to see,
If the sun should rise and find your eyes
All filled with tears for me;

I wish so much you wouldn't cry
The way you did today,
While thinking of the many things,
We didn't get to say.

I know how much you love me,
As much as I love you,
And each time that you think of me,
I know you'll miss me too;

But when tomorrow starts without me,
Please try to understand,
That an angel came and called my name,
And took me by the hand,

And said my place was ready,
In heaven far above,
And that I'd have to leave behind
All those I dearly love.

But as I turned to walk away,
A tear fell from my eye,
For all my life, I'd always thought,
I didn't want to die.

I had so much to live for,
So much left yet to do,
It seemed almost impossible,
That I was leaving you.

I thought of all the yesterdays,
The good ones and the bad,
I thought of all that we shared,
And all the fun we had.

If I could relive yesterday,
Just even for a while,
I'd say good-bye and kiss you
And maybe see you smile.

But then I fully realized,
That this could never be,
For emptiness and memories,
Would take the place of me.

And when I thought of worldly things,
I might miss some tomorrow,
I thought of you, and when I did,
My heart was filled with sorrow.

But when I walked through heaven's gates,
I felt so much at home.
When God looked down and smiled at me,
From His great golden throne,

He said, "This is eternity,
And all I've promised you."
Today your life on earth is past,
But here life starts anew.

I promise no tomorrow,
But today will always last,
And since each day is the same way,
There's no longing for the past.

So when tomorrow starts without me,
Don't think we're far apart,
For every time you think of me,
I'm right here, in your heart "

Being defeated is only a temporary condition;
Giving up is what makes it permanent.

~~Marilyn vos Savant
Taking the time every day to recognize
What you're grateful for helps keep things
In perspective. Gratitude carries you
Through the tough times, and gives you
The strength to surpass the stress of
Challenges.

Reflect on your family, your friends, or the
Place where you live, and the satisfaction
They bring you. Think about your good
Health and your talents.
Consider the pleasure you received from a
Phone call when a friend or a laugh you
Shared with your children.

Look back on small and large moments,
The affection of a pet, your success in the garden
Or a deep and fulfilling relationship.
These are all the tings that nourish gratitude.
And, gratitude makes life worth living.

What tomorrow will bring

What tomorrow will bring
+++++++++++++++++++

Life is dynamic. And for that reason, the bad news is never
as bad as it seems.

Whatever may happen, whatever condition may arise, you can
adjust to it and make the most of it. Not only can you
survive in the face of changing conditions, you can indeed
prosper.

When you look at new developments through the lens of your
existing assumptions, they can often appear overwhelmingly
negative and hopeless. Yet when you start working your way
through the new conditions, brilliant opportunities begin to
appear at nearly every turn.

Circumstances are constantly changing, and even the changes
are constantly changing. As you continue to adapt, and as
those around you also adapt, positive new possibilities
emerge and take root.

It's difficult to know precisely what tomorrow will bring.
Yet you can know with confidence that whatever tomorrow does
offer, there will be a way for you to make the most of it.

For the value and goodness of life never go away. They just
continue to be presented to you in new and more fulfilling
ways.

Ralph Marston

............................................................................

BE ANXIOUS FOR NOTHING

Do not worry about tomorrow.
God holds each day in the palm of His hand.
Yesterday's cares have all past.
God sees the future, only He understands.

With Christ in control, there is no reason to fear.
He knows the beginning from the end.
He will walk with you through all your days.
Be anxious for nothing. Jesus is your dearest Friend.

The problems of life that cause worry
Are not worthy of causing alarm.
Jesus will keep you safe in His care.
He will go before you, to keep you safe from all harm.

Trust in the Lord, completely.
Acknowledge Him in all your ways.
Lean not to your own understanding.
Jesus is Lord of all our days.

Select your direction

Select your direction
+++++++++++++++++++

Your destination depends not on where you are but on which
way you go. Your results depend not on what has happened,
and not on what you have, but on what you do with it all.

From here, you can go anywhere. There are pathways leading
in every direction.

What matters now is which of those pathways you choose. What
matters now is the next step you take.

Give yourself permission to decide what you truly desire for
your life and for your world. And know that there is a way,
right now, to begin creating it.

When your thoughts and actions have a clear, specific
purpose, each moment will carry you closer to the
fulfillment of that purpose. When you move consistently in a
chosen direction, you cannot help but reach the destination
you choose.

Lovingly, thoughtfully and carefully select your direction
today. You are always moving toward something, so make that
something exactly what you wish.

I believe

believe
That sometimes when I'm angry I have the right to be angry, but that doesn't
give me the right to be cruel.

I believe-
That you can do something in an instant that will give you heartache for
life.

I believe-
That you should always leave loved ones with loving words. It may be the
last time you see them.

I believe-
That it's taking me a long time to become the person I want to be.

I believe-
That we don't have to change friends if we understand that friends change.

I believe-
That no matter how good a friend is, they're going to hurt you every once in
a while and you must forgive them for that.

I believe-
That true friendship continues to grow, even over the longest distance.
Same goes for true love.

I believe-
That you can keep going long after you think you can't.

I believe-
That we are responsible for what we do, no matter how we feel.

I believe-
That either you control your attitude or it controls you.

I believe-
That heroes are the people who do what has to be done when it needs to be
done, regardless of the consequences.

I believe-
That money is a lousy way of keeping score.

I believe-
That my best friend and I can do anything or nothing and have the best time.

I believe-
That sometimes the people you expect to kick you when you're down will be
the ones to help you get back up.

I believe-
That maturity has more to do with what types of experiences you've had and
what you've learned from them and less to do with how many birthdays you've
celebrated.

I believe-
That it isn't always enough to be forgiven by others. Sometimes you have to
learn to forgive yourself.

I believe-
That no matter how badly your heart is broken the world doesn't stop for
your grief.

I believe-
That our background and circumstances may have influenced who we are, but we
are responsible for who we become.

I believe-
That just because two people argue, it doesn't mean they don't love each
other. And just because they don't argue, it doesn't mean they do.

I believe-
That you shouldn't be so eager to find out a secret. It could change your
life forever.

I believe-
That two people can look at the exact same thing and see something totally
different.

I believe-
That your life can be changed in a matter of hours by people who don't even
know you.

I believe-
That even when you think you have no more to give, when a friend cries out
to you, you will find the strength to help.

I believe-
That credentials on the wall do not make you a decent human being.

I believe-
That the people you care about most in life are taken from you too soon

This too, my dear, will pass away

I had a very hectic day today
Seems nothing I did went my way.
I fretted and stewed and worried,
Rushed here and there, always hurried.

Then I recalled what my granny would say,
"This too, my dear, will pass away."
Finally evening came and I was alone
With a little time to call my own.

I breathed a sigh into the air,
For now it seemed I hadn't a care.
But in my memory, I heard granny say,
"This too, my dear, will pass away."

So, I snuggled in for a good nights rest
Vowing tomorrow just to do my best
For when troubles come they never stay
And good times seem to hurry away.
Granny was right when she would say,
"This too, my dear, will pass away."

Enjoy the good times while they're here
And face the bad times without fear
For nothing on earth lasts forever
Each moment of life we must savor.
Live life and love while you may,
For this too, my dear, will pass away.

Failure

Failure does not mean I'm a failure;
It does mean I have not yet succeeded.
Failure does not mean I have accomplished nothing; It does mean I have
Learned something.
Failure does not mean I have been a fool; It does mean I had enough
Faith to experiment. Failure does not mean I have disgraced;
It does mean I have dared to try.
Failure does not mean I don't have it;
It does mean I have something to do in a different way. Failure does not
Mean I am inferior;
It does mean I am not perfect.
Failure does not mean I have wasted my life; It does mean that I have an
Excuse to start over. Failure does not mean that I should give up; It
Does mean that I should try harder.
Failure does not mean that I will never make it; It does mean that I
Need more practice.
Failure does not mean that You have abandoned me; It does mean that You
Must have a better idea.

Be thankful

To place blame only adds fire to the flame.

-- Joyce C. Lock

If you are patient in one moment of anger, you will escape a hundred days of
sorrow.

-Chinese Epigram

Be thankful that you don't already have everything you desire.
If you did, what would there be to look forward to?
Be thankful when you don't know something,
For it gives you the opportunity to learn.

Be thankful for the difficult times. During those times you grow.
Be thankful for your limitations,
Because they give you opportunities for improvement.
Be thankful for each new challenge,
Because it will build your strength and character.

Be thankful for your mistakes. They will teach you valuable lessons.
Be thankful when you're tired and weary,
Because it means you've made a difference.

It's easy to be thankful for the good things.
A life of rich fulfillment comes to those who
Are also thankful for the setbacks.
Gratitude can turn a negative into a positive.
Find a way to be thankful for your troubles,
And they can become your blessings.

ALWAYS LOOK ON THE INSIDE

I remember reading a story once about a man who was exploring some caves by
The seashore. In one of the caves he found a canvas bag with a bunch of
Hardened clay balls. It was like someone had rolled up some clay and left
Them out in the sun to bake. They didn't look like much, but they intrigued
The man so he took the bag out of the cave with him.

As he strolled along the beach, to pass the time, he would throw the clay
Balls one at a time out into the ocean as far as he could throw.

He thought little about it until he dropped one of the balls and it cracked
Open on a rock. Inside was a beautiful, precious stone. Excited, the man
Started breaking open the remaining clay balls. Each contained a similar
Treasure. He found thousands of dollars worth of jewels in the 20 or so clay
Balls he had left, then it struck him.

He had been on the beach a long time. He had thrown maybe 50 or 60 of the
Clay balls with their hidden treasure into the ocean waves. Instead of
Thousands of dollars in treasure, he could have had tens of thousands, but
He just threw it all away.

You know sometimes, it's like that with people. We look at someone, maybe
Even ourselves, and we see the external clay vessel. It doesn't look like
Much from the outside. It isn't always beautiful or sparkling, so we
Discount it; we see that person as less important than someone more
Beautiful or stylish or well known or wealthy.

But we have not taken the time to find the treasure hidden inside that
Person. There is a treasure hidden in every one of us. We are wonderfully
Made. Not just our physical bodies, our spiritual selves, which are
Sometimes hidden from others by the *earthen vessel*

But if you take the time to get to know that person, and if you ask the
Spirit to show you that person the way He sees them, then the clay begins to
Peel away and the brilliant gem begins to shine forth.

The glory of friendship is not the outstretched hand, nor the kindly smile,
Nor the joy of companionship; it is the spiritual inspiration that comes to
One when he discovers that someone else believes in him and is willing to
Trust him with his friendship.

Give to another human being without the expectation of a return.

Learn the art of patience.
Apply discipline to your thoughts
When they become anxious
Over the outcome of a goal.
Impatience breeds anxiety,
Fear, discouragement and failure.
Patience creates confidence,
Decisiveness, and a rational outlook,
Which eventually leads to success.

- Brian Adams

One of my teachers had each one of us bring a clear plastic bag and a sack
of potatoes. For every person we'd refuse to forgive in our life experience,
we were told to choose a potato, write on it the name and date, and put it
in the plastic bag. Some of our bags, as you can imagine, were quite heavy.
We were then told to carry this bag with us everywhere for one week, putting
it beside our bed at night, on the car seat when driving, next to our desk
at work. The hassle of lugging this around with us made it clear what a
weight we were carrying spiritually, and how we had to pay attention to it
all the time to not forget, and keep leaving it in embarrassing places.
Naturally, the condition of the potatoes deteriorated to a nasty slime. This
was a great metaphor for the price we pay for keeping our pain and heavy
negativity! Too often we think of forgiveness as a gift to the other person,
and it clearly is for ourselves!! So the next time you decide you can't
forgive someone, ask yourself ... Isn't your bag heavy enough?

There may be days
When you get up in the morning
And things aren't the way
You had hoped they would be.

That's when you have to
Tell yourself that things will get better.
There are times when people
Disappoint you and let you down,

But those are the times
When you must remind yourself
To trust your own judgments and opinions,
To keep your life focused on believing in yourself

And all that you are capable of.
There will be challenges to face
And changes to make in your life,
And it is up to you to accept them.

Constantly keep yourself headed
In the right direction for you.
It may not be easy at times,
But in those times of struggle

You will find a stronger sense of who you are,
So when the days come that are filled
With frustration and unexpected responsibilities,
Remember to believe in yourself

And all you want your life to be,
Because the challenges and changes
Will only help you to find the goals
That you know are meant to come true for you.

The way you feel
+++++++++++++++++++

As you go through this day, make an effort to notice one
small, insignificant little frustration that you'd normally
get upset about. Then do yourself a favor, and simply let it
go.

Experience, in that small way, the freedom of being in
control of the way you feel. And realize that you can extend
that control to every situation in which you find yourself.

The little things most certainly do not have to get you
down. And neither do the big things.

At any moment, the way you feel is the way you choose to
feel. The way you respond is the way you choose to respond.

Do you really wish to be under the control of those who do
not have your best interest at heart? Of course you don't.

Base your feelings on the unique, valuable person you know
you are, and on the positive possibilities available to you.
Feel the genuine greatness of this moment, and you can bring
it to life.

Yours to create
+++++++++++++++++++

If anyone has been able to do it before, you can do it too.
If no one has ever done it, you can be the first.

What seems out of your reach now, gets closer the moment you
begin working toward it. There is a way to achieve what you
choose, when you commit yourself to continue taking action.

If you could have it all instantly, it would not be worth
having. For the real value of accomplishment is in the
accomplishing.

You are smart, and motivated, and flexible and resourceful.
When you decide to make it happen, you will surely find your
way there.

Focus on the reason for doing it, the deepest reason you can
find within yourself. That will keep you going as long as
necessary.

Achievement is yours to create, when it's something to which
you're truly committed. Get it done, and know the special
joy of making the world a better place.

Ralph Marston

Love needs expression

A God explainable is not really God.

Many people feel anything but spritual when they hit bottom. Their misery is often reinforced by Christians who take a very shortsighted view of what the sufferer is going through and why. But our heavenly father is well-pleased with what He intends to bring out of such a painful process. A person who knows that the secret of God-dependent life can say, "Itis good for me that I have been afflicted, that I may learn Your statuts" - Joanie Yoder

Genuine caring reaches beyond feelings to action. Caring, like steam or electricity, isn't worth much unless something happens as a result of it. Love without deeds doesn't really exist, just as talent not demenstrated in creative ways doesn't really exist. Both must be expressed or they are a myth.

If you want to be a loving person, don't start by taking on the needs of the world. Because we can't do everything, we often don't do anything. Start with caring about one person and build from there. You can't do everything, but you can do something. What you can do, you should do. Today, determine that in the power and grace of God you will do it. -- Haddon Robinson
